The Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom informs that on July 18 police of West Midlands (Birmingham) detained two Ukrainian citizens on suspicion of involvement in terrorist attacks in the UK and a murder, Foreign Ministry of Ukraine press office informs.
"One of the detainees was subsequently released without charge. The investigation into the involvement of another suspect in other alleged crimes goes on," the statement reads.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the British party observes his rights, including access to a lawyer, translator, and the opportunity to use health services.
The Embassy maintains contact with representatives of the British police.
The case is under special control of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom and the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
