The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has not yet received from the British party confirmation of the identity of the two students, who were detained on July 18 on suspicion of involvement in the bombings near mosques in the UK.
"The Foreign Ministry, as of now can not confirm the identity of citizens, who were detained in the UK. We cannot confirm their Ukrainian citizenship, as it can only be done on the basis of their passport documents, which we have not received from the British party so far," director of information policy department of the Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis said.
He added that Ukraine has not yet received the consent of the British consul to visit these people.
"We expect the response of the British party to confirm the identity of these people in the near future," he stressed.
