Holding rallies against tyranny of the police, opposition politicians speculate on events, occurred in village of Vradiyivka and discredited law enforcement officers in the eyes of public, chief of the main directorate of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Kyiv Valery Koriak said.
He expressed regret that politicians, who organize rallies, pursue the goal of discrediting.
The chief of the Kyiv police department appealed to politicians, the public and journalists not to escalate the situation.
"It is easier to say that everything is bad because of events in Vradiyivka. We condemn them also and realize that this should not be. However, it is impossible to make all the policemen tin soldiers. The police are not the enemy, the police are assistant. We are working on ourselves and try to maintain a constructive relationship with the population," Koriak summed up.
