The Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Ministry of Ukraine has no plans to raise tariffs for the population, minister Hennady Temnyk said during the meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Our policy lies not in raising tariffs, but in reducing costs and in a more rational use of the resources, which we actually collect to provide services," Temnyk said.

According to him, 0.75 kWh of energy is consumed in Ukraine to heat one cubic meter of water, and abroad the figure is about 0.4 kW.

"The main challenge we set before the cities, and the policy of the Ministry is to raise funds and to upgrade the system. At the expense of savings we will be able to pay the loan and continue modernization of the sector," he concluded.
