In first half of 2013, Ukrainians were paid state aid of 21 billion 900 million hryvnia, social policy minister Natalia Korolevska told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

The official said that after 6 months of 2013, the Ministry paid state aid by 21.5% more than over the same period last year.

"The total amount of payments is 21 billion 900 million hryvnia," Korolevska explained.

The minister noted that the insurance payments from industrial accidents and occupational diseases have grown.

"The monthly insurance premiums have grown by 14.9% more than last year, that is by 180 hryvnia," the minister added.

Moreover, Korolevska clarified that extra payments to disabled veterans pensions and salaries of public sector employees were increased as well.

"The total resources, spent for 6 months on pensions, amounted to 124 billion hryvnia, which is 12 billion more than in 2012," the official summarized.
