For the first half of 2013, the volume of agricultural production in Ukraine grew by 15%, first vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov said, opening the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the agricultural sector has become one of the leaders in conducting of successful reforming of the Ukrainian economy. "In the first half of this year, we observed an increase in agricultural production by 15%. This growth exceeded the figures planned by the program of the Cabinet of Ministers on development of the agricultural sector in 2013-2014," Arbuzov said.
The first deputy Prime Minister noted that as of today, Ukraine collected by 10 million tons of grain more than during the same period last year.
