The Ukrainian government will soon consider a bill on monetary surcharges for Ukrainian citizens buying domestic cars, vice Prime Minister Yuri Boiko stated.
"We’ll pay in addition for Ukrainians to buy domestic. In the near future the bill will be sent to the government and the Parliament," he said on air of the Channel 5 on Tuesday night.
Boiko stressed that the government will continue supporting the Ukrainian automotive industry, because of its "historical past" and 70 thousand jobs in the industry, taking into account the fact that the cars import into the country excesses all the critical indicators. "We will support those employers, who retain these jobs," he said.
Commenting on the criticism of the law on environmental taxes, vice Prime Minister pointed out that almost all countries have such a tax or fee.
Boiko added that if the full range of measures to support the automotive industry is applied, in particular, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on benefits for companies, which provide full technological cycle, the industry will come to a positive trend.
