Situation in Egypt remains tense, director of the Foreign Ministry information policy department Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Egypt, tense situation remains. In particular, over the last few days in Cairo there have been mass protests of advocates of President Mursi, who require his release and return of his presidential powers," he said.
At the same time, the situation in the resort cities in Egypt Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada is calm. "No protests have been recorded in these cities in recent days. Law enforcement of tourist complexes is strengthened by additional police units. We received no appeals of citizens of Ukraine, who are in Egypt, regarding emergencies," Perebyinis concluded.
