Today ton of grain on the domestic market costs 100-200 hryvnia more than over the same period in 2011 and there are no objective conditions for a critical grain price cut, first deputy agrarian policy and food minister Ivan Bisiuk stated.

According to him, the market has returned to its annual average values.

"At this level of world grain production, decline in its average value was expected. However, the current price is within the average of previous years. Thus, the current prices are 50-70 hryvnia per ton lower than over the corresponding period last year. However, it should be noted that the current prices are 100-200 hryvnia per ton higher than those that were on the same date in 2011," the deputy minister said.

Bisiuk noted that it is no possible to talk about some critical grain prices cut today as the market returned to its annual average.
