The legal construction in Ukraine has grown three-fold over the past two years, deputy chairman of the State Architectural and Construction Inspection Anatoly Hryhor told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
Hryhor explained that 48 thousand documents have been registered at the beginning of construction in the first half of 2013 in the Unified State Register. Such data, he said, show a three-fold increase as compared to the same periods in the past 2 years. "Of them, 30 thousand are construction of housing nature, 10 thousand – of production nature and another 10 thousand - road transport infrastructure," he added.
He recalled that a bill, which greatly simplifies the process of acquisition of the right to construction works, was passed two years ago in Ukraine in order to improve the situation in the sphere of legal construction. The adoption has resulted in a significant increase in the legal construction in the country.
"This figure (48 thousand - Ed.) is 12% more than last year. Moreover, for the first six months of 2013, about 27 thousand declarations of readiness for operation of objects were registered," he said.
Hryhor added that leaders in the number of registered declarations in the first half of the year were Donetsk (3293 declarations), Kyiv (1125), Odesa (1026) and Lviv (986) regions.
"The largest number of commissioned objects is registered in Donetsk region, Kyiv region and Crimea," the official concluded.
