Issuance of driving licenses with chips in Ukraine has been suspended, the Today newspaper reports with reference to the traffic police chief Volodymyr Astapkovych.
According to him, the issuance was suspended by a special government decree for an indefinite time after numerous complaints of citizens, including the Cabinet of Ministers.
The main and the only claim of the drivers was the high price for driving license, which cost nearly 250 UAH instead of 198 UAH.
The traffic police do not rule out the possibility that the government will return the driving license with chip back, but do not know when it will happen.
