Regional development, construction, housing and communal services minister of Ukraine Hennady Temnyk urged the regions not to allow economically unjustified increase in public utilities rates and instructed to rectify the situation in the regions where it had happened. The press service of the Ministry informs.

The Regional Development Ministry asked the governors with the requirement to provide verification, analysis of the economic feasibility of tariffs for housing and communal services and cancel the inflated rates, bringing them to a level that was as of January 1, 2013.

According to the Ministry, a number of regions have become the most "active" in tariff increases. Since the beginning of this year, 22 settlements of Zaporizhia region, 13 settlements of Mykolayiv region, 12 of Odesa region, 10 of Crimea and Volyn region increased tariffs for water services. Service disposal services rose in 8 settlements of Chernihiv region, 7 of Crimea, 7 of Volyn region and 5 settlements of Ivano-Frankivsk region. In some settlements of Crimea, Lviv, Sumy and Kyiv regions there were increased tariffs for maintenance of houses and adjacent territories.

The minister noted that violation was addressed after the comments made by the Regional Development Ministry in a number of towns of  Volyn, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv regions.
