Prime Minister Mykola Azarov congratulated the Ukrainian team on a victory at the European Canoe and Kayak Championships among juniors and young people, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reports.
According to the report, Azarov promised to provide appropriate conditions together with the Youth and Sports Minister for the development of sport in Ukraine and, in particular, for the preparation for next Olympics.
The Ukrainian team won 16 medals, including 8 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze, taking the third place in the overall team standings in the competition among juniors and the forth place among youth under 23 years. The championship was held from June 27 to 30, 2013 in the Polish city of Poznan.
