Interior minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Zakharchenko says that the police make every effort to restore the violated rights of journalists. It is said in his congratulatory message to participants of the program "Open Talk" and the interdepartmental working group on the analysis of compliance with the law on freedom of expression and protection of the rights of journalists, the press service of the President informs.

"Journalists have a common goal with us - the protection of the rights and legitimate interests. That is why the media workers need to feel protected. "Open Talk" is the area, where you can hear each other, and most importantly - understand. I want to thank you for your cooperation and assure you that we are making every effort to restore the violated rights of journalists and bring those responsible to justice," congratulatory letter says.

Zakharchenko stressed that the joint project of the Interior Ministry and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine within the framework of the "Open Talk" has become extremely important for the law enforcement agencies.

"International experience to establish a good relationship between the law enforcers and journalists is very useful for the Ukrainian police, especially in the state of its modernization," Zakharchenko said.

"I hope that in future thanks to our joint efforts, we will be able to avoid the problem points in the interaction. I assure you that the police are always ready for the open talk," the minister said.
