Neither procuracy authorities nor the bodies of internal affairs will admit repressions against the residents of Vradiyivka village, who hold a protest in connection with the rape of a local woman and police inaction, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka said during hearing of report of the Interior Ministry and SBU on investigation into the events in Mykolayiv region, the Prosecutor General’s Office press service reports.

Pshonka recalled that as of July 5, three people suspected of beating and raping a 29-year-old woman were arrested.

"In addition, deputy head of Vradiyivka police department, suspected of attempt to conceal the crime and abuse of power, was arrested," he added.

Head of the Interior Ministry department in Mykolayiv region, chief of police and prosecutor of Vradiyivka district were removed from office.
