Representative of Ukraine to the EU, commissioner for foreign policy of Ukraine and integration processes Kostyantyn Yeliseev argues that Brussels does not believe that Kyiv halts between the European Community and the Customs Union.

In addition, as Yeliseev said in an interview to "Interfax-Ukraine", the parties agreed on an informal dialogue on cooperation with the Eurasian Customs Union.

Stating that the path to a united Europe is in the national interest of the state, the Ukrainian diplomat also said that Ukraine should develop a comprehensive partnership with the countries - initiators of the so-called Euro-Asian integration processes - the Eurasian Economic Community. "European partners understand this," he assured.

Yeliseev drew attention to recent decisions of the G8 summit in Ireland, in which the leaders of these countries welcomed the Eurasian integration processes with the participation of the Russian Federation.

"This confirms the fact that today the global players are trying to work out their position and content of future relations with this association. Ukraine has already found such a status, and it does not contradict its European aspirations," the Ukrainian diplomat expressed his opinion.

In addition, he said, Ukraine and the EU has agreed on informal dialogue on cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Community, during which the two sides will discuss approaches and share information of mutual interest.
