Rada ratifies convention with Cyprus on avoidance of double taxation

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax evasion. As ForUm correspondent reports, 244 MPs voted for the ratification.

"Some legislators did not want to ratify the convention, arguing that first the agreement between the Soviet Union and Cyprus dated 1982 should be denounced. However, this Convention has the corresponding norm, so once it enters into force, the agreement with the Soviet Union will be denounced," speaker Volodymyr Rybak explained.
