Parliament supported the candidacy of Oleksandr Kopylenko as a member of the Central Election Commission, ForUm correspondent reports.

236 deputies voted for this decision.

It should be noted that head of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak put this issue to a vote, sitting in the session hall on the deputy seat.

Before this, the opposition deputies gathered around the rostrum and presidium of the Verkhovna Rada for the speaker not to put the issue on appointment of Kopylenko to a vote.

After the voting, Rybak invited the leaders of the parliamentary factions to his office for a meeting and left the session hall without announcing a break.
