The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the draft resolution № 2197а, initiated by President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, on early termination of office of a member of the Central Election Commission, ForUm correspondent reports.
241 MPs voted for adoption of the draft resolution.
According to the text of the draft resolution, the powers of member of the Central Election Commission Volodymyr Shapoval shall be prematurely terminated due to reaching the age of 65 years.
"The President, fulfilling the law of Ukraine, submits a proposal dismiss Shapoval in connection with his reaching age of 65 years," representative of the President in the Parliament Yuri Miroshnichenko said.
