Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych congratulated President of the United States of America Barack Obama on the occasion of the U.S. Independence Day, the President’s press office informs.
"On behalf of the Ukrainian people and me personally, please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day of the United States. I believe in the further deepening of the fruitful US-Ukrainian strategic partnership for the benefit of the peoples of our countries," he noted.
According to Yanukovych, Ukraine will continue being a reliable partner of the United States in the promotion of European and international security.
"I am grateful for the consistent support of your country for comprehensive domestic reforms in Ukraine and our European aspirations. I wish you, Mr. President, good health and success in your responsible state activities. I wish friendly people of the United States peace, well-being and prosperity," the congratulatory message reads.
