Deputy head of the police department of Vradiyivka district of Mykolayiv region was detained, suspected of covering up the crimes, the regional prosecutor’s office reports.
The criminal proceedings against him were opened under Part 2 of the Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - Excess of authority or official powers accompanied with violence, use of weapons, or actions that caused pain or were derogatory to the victim's personal dignity.
"Preliminarily we can say that the detainee did not provide a full and fair disclosure of the crime. Moreover, being on friendly terms with the suspects, he wanted to shelter them from responsibility and illegally demanded from his subordinates to conceal important facts. I repeat once again - all the guilty will be punished," prosecutor of Mykolayiv region Andriy Kurys informed.
