Brazil plans to open honorary consulates in several cities of Ukraine, Brazilian foreign minister Antonio Patriota said after the meeting with foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara.

"I would like once again to come to Kyiv, and see Ukraine as the whole. I am particularly interested in Odesa, where we're going to open the honorary consulate. Moreover, we’re going to open the honorary consulates in other cities of Ukraine such as Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk," Patriot said, recalling that the Brazilian consulate has been already successfully working in Lviv.

He also stressed that Brazil considers Ukraine a very important partner in trade and industry and expressed satisfaction with the lifting of the ban on Brazilian pork exports to Ukraine.

"Our trade is growing quite well, and we look forward to its expansion. We will work to diversify our trade ties," he stressed.

In addition, the foreign minister thanked Ukraine for the support, provided to Brazil while electing the Brazilian candidate for the post of Director General of the World Trade Organization.

"We are also working with Ukraine through mutual support of candidates for the various positions, including the question of the posts in the UN Security Council," he added.

In conclusion, the diplomat said that Brazil is watching with interest over the process that occurs in the negotiations between Ukraine and the European Union, between our state and Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
