The President addressed the Verkhovna Rada with a request to consider the urgent draft law "On amendments to article 18 of the law of Ukraine "On state assistance for families with children," head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Lyovochkin stated, the press service of the head of state reported.
The given draft law was elaborated by the Cabinet of Ministers in the context of fulfillment of one of the tasks determined in social initiatives of the President "Children are the future of Ukraine".
The given draft law improves the system of state support for disabled children among orphans and children deprived of parental care under tutorship or guardianship by setting the amount of state assistance for these orphans at the level of two living wages regardless of state social support received as an assistance for disabled child.
Nowadays, under the law "On state assistance for families with children" state support at the level of two living wages is provided for disabled children among orphans and children deprived of parental care under tutorship or guardianship. At the same time, due to inadequate legislation, the given support is decreased by the amount of social assistance paid to a disabled child.
The adoption of the given draft law will facilitate improvement of social protection and material state of disabled children among orphans and children deprived of parental care under tutorship or guardianship
After the enactment of the law "On amendments to article 18 of the law of Ukraine "On state assistance for families with children," 1612 disabled children among orphans and children deprived of parental care under tutorship or guardianship will receive respective state assistance increased by 894 UAH.
