Ukraine hopes for further fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia in field of nuclear energy, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky said during a meeting with director general of the State Corporation "Rosatom" Sergey Kiriyenko in St. Petersburg on June 27, the Ministry press service informs.
Stavytsky noted cooperation in enhancing construction of a nuclear fuel plant in Ukraine.
In addition, the minister informed of the positive work of the Russian-Ukrainian working group on cooperation in construction and operation of nuclear power plants in the third countries. "We hope that this trend will give greater impetus and mutually beneficial prospects of cooperation for both parties," Stavytsky said.
The parties discuss development of specific proposals for servicing nuclear power plants, built according to the Russian projects in Hungary, Bulgaria, Iran and other countries, as well as general engineering services, services for nuclear power plants and co-production of equipment for nuclear power plants.
The two parties also stressed the need to intensify construction of reactors № 3 and № 4 of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant, and first of all, the organization of its funding in accordance with the agreements reached by the parties.
The participants of the meeting expressed hope for further fruitful mutually beneficial Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in nuclear field.
