The Defense Ministry counts on additional funding from the state budget in 2013 in the amount of almost 2 billion UAH, defense minister Pavlo Lebedev told reporters in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.
"We have submitted a statement on increase in the military budget in the amount of 1.9 billion UAH," the minister said.
Lebedev said that the army needs 1.2 billion UAH for repayment of loan payable from the previous year.
In addition, according to the minister, additional 300 million UAH are required for the modernization and re-equipment of barracks and about 300 million UAH - for military training.
