President Viktor Yanukovych emphasized the necessity of providing decent social support to medical workers, he announced during a meeting with candidates for the post of chairmen of regional state administrations, the press office of the head of state reported on Wednesday.
In the context of health-care reform implementation, the head of state noted that Ukraine lacked the doctors of proper professional level. "That’s why we must train them and create respective conditions for that. I mean salaries and social protection," the head of state said. "I am sure we will cope with this task but we need time," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
The President also emphasized: "Modernization of health-care sphere is a difficult process in any country. At the same time, in short terms, Ukraine managed to renew the fleet of ambulances significantly, equip them with modern technologies and increase the assortment of medicines used by medical brigades in their work. Provision of medicines for ambulances reaches the figure of 100% in pilot regions," Viktor Yanukovych noted.
