Ukrainian gas transportation system is irreplaceable for the EU, so the development of the project of its modernization need to be addressed in the near future, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Ukrainian gas transportation system with underground storage facilities of gas has unique irreplaceable capabilities for the European energy market," Azarov said.
According to him, the development of networks of the Ukrainian gas storage facilities and modernization of the gas transportation system may play a key role in the strategic stability of the European market.
"I instruct deputy Prime Minister Yuri Boiko to develop a concept of the continental project and present it before the summit in Vilnius," the Prime Minister instructed.
