Increased fire risk in Ukraine will continue until mid-October, head of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine Mykhailo Bolotskykh said during an Hour of questions to the government in Parliament, ForUm correspondent reports.
"This year, Ukraine expects from the second half of June a significant increase in the level of temperature and fire risk, and it will last until the middle of October," the official said.
According to him, the most dangerous situation is expected in the Crimea, and more than 51.500 people and 10.600 vehicles will be attracted to prevent the possibility of fire. The access to forests will be also limited.
The official also recalled that on May 20, a central headquarters headed by deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul was established to coordinate actions of local and central authorities.
