There is no threat to Ukrainian tourists in Turkey in the cities where the protesters clash with police,
Ukraine's consul general in Istanbul Bohdan Yaremenko said on the Ukrainian television channel on Sunday, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported.
He said that it is a significant exaggeration to say that Turkey is engulfed by protests or revolution, Ukrinform reports.
"If Ukrainians come to Turkey to rest at sea, as tourists or on business matters, we cannot say that they face something more than under usual circumstances. There are no grounds for that," the diplomat said.
However, he added that "being in the midst of protest events or participation in them can be dangerous, especially in places where radical, often unidentified groups act."
