Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak has stressed the need to form the state budget for 2014 with the active cooperation of central and local government agencies, Interfax informs.

He said at a meeting of the ninth Ukrainian municipal forum of the Association of Ukrainian Cities in Yalta on Thursday that the budget for the 2013 “is rather tense, which is reflected in mutual relations between the state and local budgets.”

“The draft of main areas of fiscal policy for 2014, which was tabled in the parliament by the government, shows that next year’s budget will not be any less tense. By and large, it should be the result of fruitful cooperation between all of us. Thus, the most painful problems should be identified in every city, town and village – repairs of the water system, elevators, or roads, so that every kopeck in the budget next year could be used for the benefit of people,” the Verkhovna Rada’s press service quoted Rybak as saying.

He also said there was a need to increase in 2014 the share of local budgets in the consolidated budget of Ukraine and increase their financial capability.
