The Constitutional Court of Ukraine does not appoint specific date of elections, it only clarifies the constitutional norm, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak said at the meeting of the IX Ukrainian Municipal Forum of the Association of Ukrainian Cities in Yalta.

He recalled that the CCU has recently decided to hold the next local elections, according to which elections to the Parliament of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, village, town, city, district and regional councils and village, town and city mayors elected in regular or special election shall be held at the same time throughout the territory of Ukraine on the last Sunday of October of the fifth year of powers of councils or heads, elected at the regular election of October 31, 2010.

"I note that the court did not appoint a specific election by this decision, it explained the constitutional norm. Local elections shall be appointed by the Parliament," he said.
