
As of June 12, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted 207 bills to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, of which 123 have been not considered, the Cabinet’s press service.
"Among the top-priority bills, expected by society, are documents of the social, fiscal, economic fields, as well as documents on the action plan to sign the Association Agreement with the EU. However, permanent blocking of the Verkhovna Rada by the opposition makes impossible to adopt the laws, necessary for the country," the Cabinet’s press service noted.
In addition, blocking of the Verkhovna Rada hinders consideration of the bill "main directions of budgetary policy for 2014", inhibiting the entire budget process in 2014.
Among other documents pending consideration remain bill on investors’ rights protection; addressing problems of the "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and the restructuring of the company in accordance with the norms of the European Energy Charter's; prohibition of financial pyramid schemes in Ukraine; increase in criminal liability for illegal mining and others.
