First stationary automatic overspeed detection devices "Harpoon" are being installed in the capital, Kyiv traffic police spokesman Natalia Storozhyk said in comments to ForUm correspondent.
According to her, they look like standing metal boxes. Photo and video cameras are installed inside the boxes. "Harpoon" automatically detects overspeeding and transmits information to traffic police, who patrol no further than two kilometers from the place of devices installation.
"29 Kyiv tracks, where speed limit is often gone over, were identified. First “Harpoons” will be installed there. As of today, five such devices were installed," Storozhyk said.
