Deputies and Senators of the Spanish Parliament issued a declaration in support of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine informs.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the declaration was published in the Senate of Spain on June 6. It was supported by 39 Spanish parliamentarians, representing all political forces. The document is open for signature.

"We, the deputies and senators of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Spain, the members of the parliamentary working group Ukraine-Spain, other friends of Ukraine, representatives of various political parties in Spain, are interested in the development of bilateral relations between Spain and Ukraine in the political, economic and cultural fields, and in promotion of Ukraine's course towards European integration, make the following statement: we praise the results of the XVI EU-Ukraine summit, which took place on February 25, 2013 in Brussels and confirmed the course of the parties to work on the conclusion of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement," the declaration stated.

Signatories declare their readiness to contribute to bringing Ukraine closer to the European Union and to the signing of the Association Agreement, which provides for the creation of a free trade area at the Vilnius summit on November 28-29, 2013.

"We welcome the measures, taken by the Ukrainian party in the context of the implementation of structural reforms in order to bring Ukrainian legislation in line with European standards. We welcome the ratification of the agreement on the European Parliament's amendments to the agreement on visa facilitation between the EU and Ukraine, we stand for the development of human contacts and the simplification of the visa regime for the citizens of Ukraine," the document says.
