The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center predicts a significant increase in the water level in the Ukrainian part of the Danube River (Odesa region) on June 20-30, director of the Hydrometeorological Center Mykola Kulbida told a briefing.

At the same time, according to Kulbida, no catastrophic processes are expected in connection with the floods.

"We should prepare for the fact that this will be a high flood, a significant increase in the water level, there will be some problems in the ports, and, of course, this is a load on dams, hydraulic structures, for which it is necessary to conduct appropriate monitoring," he said .

He said that the flood wave is currently in Hungary, where there is the increase in water level in the Danube River and partly in Romania.

However, Kulbida noted that the Danube has two reservoirs, which partly can regulate a height of the flood wave, and at the moment, they are intensively preparing to get a high water.
