The Cabinet of Ministers and the National Bank of Ukraine are working to reduce interest rates on loans, particularly on mortgages, to make housing loans in Ukraine more affordable, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov posted on Facebook, the Cabinet’s press office reports.

"While we have very high interest rates on housing loans, partially offset by the budget. The main issue is the availability of credit, that is, reduction of rates. The National Bank and the government are working to settle this issue," Azarov wrote.

1.5 thousand Ukrainian families received aid within five months of the implementation of affordable housing government programs in 2013.
