Within implementation of the medical reform, cancer is now diagnosed at earlier stages, first deputy head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Iryna Akimova told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The share of patients with advanced malignant tumors has decreased significantly. For example, in Vinnytsia - from 5.07% to 4.8%, in Donetsk - from 4.1% to 3.9%, in Kyiv - from 20.0% to 14.7%. These figures may seem not significant, but they stand for hundreds, and in some cases, for thousands of saved lives," she noted.
In addition, the number of appeals to the narrow specialists has reduced on average by 20% due to the fact that family doctors can solve the problem at their level.
