Storms that hit the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa on May 31 will cost the city budget 23 million UAH, deputy Odesa mayor Stitlana Bedreha said during a special meeting of the city council's executive committee.

"Total damage amounted to 23 million UAH. This amount does not include the cost of work to tackle the aftermath of the storms, downed trees and the sand washed off the beaches," she said.

According to Odesa mayor Oleksiy Kostusev, 1 million UAH is required to restore the beach zone after the storms, Ukrinform reports.
