The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych hopes for the effectiveness work of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Serbian commission, the fifth meeting of which was held in April in Belgrade.
"We hope that the formed intergovernmental commission will work effectively," the President said during a meeting with the Prime Minister and the internal minister of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade, ForUm learned from the press service of the President.
Yanukovych called the absence of an active dialogue between the countries as a disadvantage. He recalled that the current visit is the first official visit of the President of Ukraine to Serbia.
According to him, the Ukrainian-Serbian business forum, which will be held in Belgrade, confirms the desire of both countries to cooperate.
He also said that Ukraine expects a visit of the Prime Minister of Serbia this autumn.
