Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov instructed director of public utility company "Kyiv underground" Volodymyr Fedorenko to submit a report on technical condition of the Kyiv subway on June 12.

"Trouble-free operation of the Kyiv metro is one of the most important issues of the Kyiv government. We therefore instruct you to prepare a comprehensive vision of the issue: the work of the rolling stock, depreciation of technology networks, including escalators, that is, everything that had accumulated over the years," Popov said during meeting of the KCSA commission on industrial and environmental safety and emergency management, ForUm correspondent reports.

Fedorenko informed that the cause of the accident occurred in the Moscow metro was the damage of the cable traction network of 825 V. According to him, Kyiv had 2090 such cables, but they operate at a lower voltage.
