Today, there are 234 billion UAH in cash circulation in Ukraine, which is by 5% more than the year before, deputy head of the NBU Vira Rychakovska told a briefing on Thursday, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to her, 20 billion UAH of this amount are cash funds of banks, other - non-banking turnover.
Rychakovska noted that the increase in mass of cash is an objective process that is associated with the overall development of the economy and the expansion of its volume.
"For these reasons, the increase in cash volume is observed throughout the world now. We studied this situation in the major developed countries. The European Union, for example, has the same rate of increase in the volume of cash in circulation," she said.
