Chairman of the State Emergency Service Mykhailo Bolotskikh expects no significant flooding in Ukraine due to heavy rains in neighboring European countries.

"According to calculations of our Service, of the Ukrainian Hydrometereological Center, and of the Water Management Agency, there are no serious grounds to expect some problems," Bolotskikh said.

According to him, the possible increase in water level in the rivers on the territory of Ukraine is expected in two weeks (after June 19).

"Water may come in two weeks, not earlier. We prepare for possible flood, especially in Odesa region," the head of the Emergency Service says.

He noted that the Service interacts with colleagues in European countries and is monitoring the current situation.

According to Bolotskikh, despite the fact that Ukraine is not expected to feel significant effects of bad weather in Europe, the State Emergency Service intends to take preventive measures, having concentrated the necessary equipment to pump the water and boats in the possible areas of flood.

To do this, he said, the Service does not require additional funds.
