Ukraine needs to adapt the national accreditation standards of industrial metrology and commerce to the European Union standards, head of Operations of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Andrew Rasbash said during the conference "Accreditation for Ukrainian Industry and Trade", ForUm correspondent reports.

"These are the screws and nuts that are at the heart of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Ukrainian bolts should fit the European nuts and vice versa, so if you forget about the basic concepts, you can forget about profit," Rasbash said.

In turn, the acting head of the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Rushchak said that if the EU-Ukraine Agreement on compliance assessment and acceptance of industrial goods is signed, domestic test reports and compliance certificates (which will be issued to Ukrainian enterprises by compliance assessment bodies), accredited in the NAU, will be recognized in the EU.

When asked by ForUm about the possible date of signing of this Agreement, Rushchak said that it could be signed in the near future, adding that this matter is under cognizance of the government.
