The National Bank of Ukraine identified three of the best commemorative coins in 2012. As ForUm correspondent reports, the results of the contest "The Best Coin of the Year in Ukraine" for 2012 were announced by NBU deputy governor Vira Rychakovska.
A silver coin "UEFA. Euro 2012. Ukraine-Poland” became the winner in the "Unique idea solution" nomination. A gold coin "Mallow" won in "The best artistic solution" nomination. A silver coin "Ukrainian lyric song” became the "Best Coin of the Year".
The NBU deputy governor explained that the contest was held in two stages. The first stage took place on January 21 - March 22 this year. During this period, anyone could fill in the questionnaire and vote for one of the coins issued in 2012. "Questionnaires were collected in specially equipped ballot boxes, ere installed in the regional offices of the NBU, of the NBU bank-distributors, as well as collected by the Numismatists Association and received by e-mail," she said.
In general, according to Rychakovska, 33 commemorative coins, issued in the past year, were evaluated.
