Foreign minister of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius believes that Ukraine fulfills plan on visa liberalization with the European Union.

"You are on the right path, you fulfill plan on visa liberalization. The first phase can be completed before the Vilnius summit in November and then you are to proceed to the second stage, to the more complex points. Progress can be, but it mustn’t to. It depends on your efforts," he said during the grand opening of the visa center of the Lithuanian Embassy in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to Linkevičius, it is difficult to say how many years it will take to abolish visa regime with the EU for Ukraine.

"However, we will talk with the Foreign Ministry so that this work could go much faster," he said.

Commenting on the possibility of Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union, the minister said that Ukraine is unlikely to sign the FTA agreement with the EU in this case.

"I'm not saying you have to cut ties. You have to choose between the organizations, to choose the directions. The EU has different rules, different requirements, different tariffs ... There are moments, when you have to choose," he concluded.
