Customs Union member states did not put forward any conditions for Ukraine to sign a memorandum with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), which allows the country to participate in the work of the CU, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent from Minsk reports.

According to him, no one, including Russia, has put forward any conditions.

“Thanks to the memorandum Ukraine will have an opportunity, at the invitation of the presiding party, to participate in the meeting of the Customs Union agencies and later the Eurasian Economic Union. This opportunity is no different from the status of an “observer” in the Customs Union,” the official said.

He also added that the participation of a representative of Ukraine in the work of the CU will allow monitoring the received documents, as well as discussing issues of trade and economic relations at the level of leadership.

He also informed that the candidacy of Ukrainian representative in the Customs Union has not yet been determined. "We will considered qualified candidates, who are experts in field of economic and trade relations within the CIS. For us, the relationship with the Customs Union is extremely important and vital. This is 40% of our trade turnover," Azarov emphasized.
