Next week, 14 visa centers of the Republic of Lithuania will be open in Ukraine, head of the department for consular service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha said during the grand opening of the visa center of the Lithuanian Embassy in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Opening of this center is another effective step towards further liberalization of the travel regime for citizens of Ukraine to Lithuania and the EU. The ultimate goal of our action is to achieve a visa free regime for the Ukrainian citizens traveling to the EU," he said.

According to Sybiha, the visa centers will start working on June 3 in Rivne, Khmelnytsk and the cities of eastern and central Ukraine.

In turn, foreign minister of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius noted: "The opening of this center is a symbolic moment for us, and we are paying a bilateral visit to discuss our cooperation and partnership with Ukraine."

He stressed that the relations between Ukraine and Lithuania are developing.
