Memorandums on cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) of the Customs Union with Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan are expected to be signed during the Council of CIS Heads of Government, head of the CIS Executive Committee Serhiy Lebedev told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports from Minsk, Belarus.

According to the official, agreement to sign memorandums was reached on May 29 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana. "The heads of CU states supported the intention of Kyrgyzstan to join the EEC and Ukraine's intention to obtain an observer status," Lebedev said.

He specified that after the signing of memorandums the Eurasian Economic Commission will start preparing changes to its legal framework that in the future will create conditions for the granting of observer status to Ukraine in the Customs Union.
