Ukraine not going to raise retirement age

As of today, the government does not plan to raise the retirement age in Ukraine.

Director of the department for provision of pensions and social protection for disabled people of the Social Policy Ministry Mykola Shambir stressed that the improvement of the pension system should pass in a complex, considering both public opinion and objective economic conditions, the press service of the Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine reports.

He reminded that the Social Policy Ministry established a special working group of scientists, experts and specialists of the Ministry and the Pension Fund to improve the pension system.

At the same time, Shambir noted that today no one is talking about the abolition of the pension reform, as many legislative changes were adopted for its implementation.

Shambir said that the retirement age is an important issue, but not the main one for modernization of the pension system. According to him, the changes should be carried out in other areas as well.
