Automatic weight control stations will be installed on main transit highways during the years of 2013-2014, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said at getting acquainted with work of the first stations for automatic weight control, which occurs during movement on the principal road Kyiv-Chop in Kyiv region.
"This is the first station, it is only the beginning of work that we are planning on equipment of main transit routes with a whole set of tools over 2013-2014, primarily, the vehicles weighing system," Azarov said.
He noted that work of the weight control station is extremely important, since it allows determining the indexes without stopping a vehicle, such as speed, tonnage and axle load. “I became convinced with my own eyes that this station is effective, it allows clearly defining all parameters of the automobiles on-line,” the Head of government stressed.
He also noted that the legislation will provide for payment of fines to the road fund for movement of the overloaded transport by highways.
At the same time, Azarov assured that appropriate explanatory work will be carried out with owners of vehicles, carrying loads in excess of the norm. The Infrastructure Ministry, the Ukravtodor and police have already identified dislocation of the areas, where reloading of the motor transport will be carried out, which moves with violation of load norms, he added.
